Bread.

I laughed way too much to not reblog this. Got to share it with my followers.

When anime or any genre goes “Yeah, we know about our clichés, we laugh at them too”, it’s the best thing ever.

calgaras said: The amount of hype Zoro has in this fandom is insane. I love Zoro too and I'm really looking forward to him actually struggling in a fight again, but it's not like the only people who can do that are the ADMIRALS. Heck, plenty of people already seem to think that Zoro can already beat them too. Please people, 750 chapters in and the strongest people Zoro's ever beaten are probably Kaku, Ryuma, and Monet--let's have something in between before Zoro goes from beaten them to cutting down Admirals.

Yeah that’s really one thing I have to say about the fandom that doesn’t exactly please me? Like Oda makes it a point to show that his characters are just how they’re supposed to be, strong of course, through their own hard work, but not insanely strong and definitely not the strongest. Experience counts a lot and there’s tons of pirates as well as marines that have been around for much longer than them, have trained for more years, and are just stronger in general. Overpowered main characters make me feel sick to the stomach, and I think Pica right now is a perfect foe for Zoro exactly for that reason. He’s gonna be a tough match make no mistake, and definitely one that will make him go a step further because like he said himself, it’s gonna be a battle all about finding weaknesses and open spots and what not. An Admiral is just waaaay out of his league or even Luffy’s. And let’s please not forget that the Monster Trio were dubbed that by the members of their own crew. Because they have insane monster-like strength but only when compared to regular humans. Definitely not when compared to the rest of the other super dangerous guys all over the Grand Line.

I’m feeling everything in your reply, Paty. The Straw Hats are a LONG way away still from being the strongest. Let’s remember who Fujitora is for a moment:

In the wake of Marineford, the Marines did a worldwide draft, and found the two most powerful eligible candidates on the planet and instantly promoted them to Admiral rank. This is Doflamingo calling Fujitora “a certified powerhouse of monstrous proportions.” I don’t even think for a second that Sabo, 2nd in command of the Revolutionary Army with new found Logia powers on top is going to beat Fujitora this arc, let alone that Zoro could do it.

One Piece has always been a story about underdogs. Luffy lost to Crocodile twice before he beat him once, and was still almost killed by his poison (and would have been if it weren’t for Robin), he lost to Aokiji, he lost (they all lost) to Kuma, he lost to Magellan, and he lost a whole lot at Marineford. One Piece is not a manga where the protagonists always win, and I wouldn’t want the time skip to have changed this. I’m fully expecting the Straw Hats to struggle, barely win some fights, lose others, make alliances and work together to take down stronger enemies like the Admirals and the Yonkou.

I’m sure a lot of people would love it if Zoro or Luffy beat an Admiral single handedly and be blown away by how strong and badass they are, but honestly I’d just be disappointed by it. Let’s save that type of action for the climaxes of the story, and not have them already pull it off barely even a couple days into the New World (seriously the Straw Hats have only been in the New World for about 2 days). The world is a bigger place than that, and the Straw Hats still need to get a lot stronger. Another 500 chapters of One Piece with Luffy and Zoro beating everyone who comes there way is NOT a manga I want to read.
